Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons (soup) of olive oil or olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of mushrooms (fresh or canned, sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of dry white wine (optional):
  • 1 cup (tea) of cream
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of how to
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 1 spoon (tea) of paprika (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch (if it is necessary to thicken it)
  • 1/4 cup (tea) of water (use corn starch)
  • Parsley, chopped, to decorate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in olive oil in a large saute pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add it to the chicken cut it into cubes and cook it until it is well browned on all sides. This should take about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same panadd the onion and garlic. Sauté over medium heat until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. If you are using mushrooms:add them to the pan and cook until they are lightly browned.
  5. To incorporate the tomato paste and for the white wine (if using). Cook, covered, for 2 to 3 minutes to reduce the alcohol in the wine, and focus on the flavors.
  6. Go back to the chicken to the pan, and stir to combine. Cook for a further 5 minutes to allow the chicken to absorb the flavors.
  7. Add the heavy cream for milkthe ketchup and mustard. Mix well until all the ingredients are incorporated and the sauce is blended. Adjust the salt, pepper, and paprika to taste.
  8. If the sauce is too liquid,you can thicken it with corn starch. To do this, add 1 tablespoon of corn starch with 1/4 cup of water. Add this mixture to the sauce and cook for a further 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  9. Bring to boil over low heat. for more than a few minutes so that the flavors blend and the sauce becomes very smooth.
  10. Finish with chopped parsley to serve if you'd like, and serve.

Suggested Follow-up

  • The stretching of the chicken is great served with white rice, potatoes and hay. You can also keep up with the mashed potatoes, or with a fresh salad.
