Creamy corn cake is a true Brazilian delicacy, perfect for an afternoon snack or as a dessert. With a soft texture and a sweet and comforting flavor, this cake is easy to prepare and wins over everyone. Let's learn how to make this delicious cake!

Ingredients

  • 1 can of sweet corn (or 2 cups of fresh corn)
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup grated cheese (optional, but recommended for a special touch)

Preparation:

  1. Prepare the oven: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a 20 cm pan with butter and sprinkle with wheat flour.
  2. Beat the ingredients: In a blender, place the corn, oil, milk, eggs and sugar. Blend until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add the mixture from the blender and mix well with a spatula until everything is incorporated. If using grated cheese, add it at this point.
  4. Pour into the mold: Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for approximately 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool and serve: After baking, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips

  • For extra flavor, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla essence to the mixture.
  • Corn cake is also delicious accompanied by a little condensed milk or guava jelly.
