Passion fruit mousse is a classic tropical dessert, loved for its refreshing and delicate flavor. The combination of the fruit's tartness and the mousse's creaminess creates an irresistible explosion of flavors. And to make this recipe even more special, we're going to use fresh fruit in the preparation, taking advantage of all its flavor and natural benefits. If you're looking for an easy, quick and flavorful dessert, passion fruit mousse with passion fruit is the perfect choice!

Ingredients:

  • 2 large, ripe passion fruits
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of cream
  • 1 packet of unflavored gelatin (12g)
  • 1/2 cup water (to dissolve the gelatin)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional, depending on the taste of the passion fruit)

Directions:

  1. Preparing the Passion Fruit: Cut the passion fruits in half and remove the pulp and seeds. Place the pulp in a bowl and set aside. If you prefer a smoother mousse, you can strain the juice to remove the seeds, but if you like the crunchy texture of the seeds, you can leave everything as is.
  2. Dissolving the Gelatin: In a small saucepan, add 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil over low heat. When the water is lukewarm, add the unflavored gelatin packet and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Beating the Mousse: In a blender, place the passion fruit pulp (or strained juice), condensed milk and cream. Blend well for about 2 minutes until you obtain a smooth, creamy mixture.
  4. Incorporating the Gelatin: With the blender still running, add the dissolved gelatin to the mixture. Blend for another 30 seconds to incorporate the gelatin evenly. If you want a sweeter mousse, add the sugar at this point and blend to dissolve.
  5. Assembling the Mousse: Pour the mousse mixture into individual glasses or a large bowl. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the mousse is firm.
  6. Finishing: To decorate, you can place the reserved passion fruit pulp on top of the mousse before serving. This not only adds a beautiful visual touch, but also intensifies the flavor of the fruit, creating a perfect combination of sweet and sour.

Tips:

  • Variety of Decoration: In addition to passion fruit pulp, you can use white chocolate shavings, mint leaves or even a little whipped cream to give your mousse an even more special touch.
  • Mousse with a creamier texture: If you prefer a creamier mousse, you can reduce the amount of gelatin a little, but be careful not to make the mousse too soft.
  • Sugar free version: If you want a less sweet or healthier version, you can replace the condensed milk with diet or soy condensed milk and avoid adding sugar.
