Ingredients
For the skewer:
- 500 g of meat (rump steak, rump cap or chicken breast) cut into cubes
- 250 g of sausage (of your preference) cut into pieces
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into squares
- 1 yellow pepper, cut into squares
- 1 onion, cut into pieces
- 1 zucchini cut into slices
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 4 cloves of minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Herbs (oregano, rosemary or thyme) to taste
For the sauce (optional):
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
Preparation:
- Prepare the marinade:
- In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs. Set aside.
- Marinate the meats:
- Add the meat cubes and sausage pieces to the marinade. Mix well so that they are well seasoned. Let marinate for at least 1 hour (if possible, longer in the refrigerator).
- Assemble the skewers:
- Preheat the grill. On wooden or metal skewers, alternate the cubes of meat, sausage and vegetables (peppers, onions and zucchini).
- Grilling the skewers:
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and lightly browned.
- Prepare the sauce (optional):
- In a bowl, mix the ketchup, mustard and honey. Set aside to serve with the skewers.
- To serve:
- Remove the skewers from the grill and serve hot, accompanied by the sauce, if desired.

- You can vary the vegetables and include carrots, pumpkin or mushrooms.
