  • 1 cup of Ninho milk (or other powdered milk of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk (can be whole milk or milk of your preference)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
  • 1 pinch of salt

For the filling and topping:

  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 box of cream (200 g)
  • 1/2 cup of Ninho milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 200 g fresh strawberries (or more, to decorate)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)

To decorate:

  • Fresh strawberries to taste
  • Ninho milk for sprinkling (optional)
  • Grated white chocolate (optional)

Preparation:

1. Preparing the cake

  1. Pre-heat the oven to at 180°C and grease a round pan approximately 22 cm in diameter with butter and wheat flour (or use baking paper).
  2. Beat the liquid ingredients: In a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. If you are using vanilla extract, add it at this point.
  3. Add the dry ingredients: Sift the wheat flour, Ninho milk and salt, and gradually add to the mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough without lumps.
  4. Add the yeast: Gently add the baking powder, stirring with a spatula or spoon.
  5. Bake the cake: Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan.

2. Preparing the filling and topping

  1. Make the Ninho milk cream: In a saucepan, add the condensed milk, cream, butter and Ninho milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and reaches a creamy but still smooth consistency. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the strawberries: Wash the strawberries well, remove the leaves and cut them into small pieces. If you prefer, you can add a little sugar to the strawberries to enhance the flavor and make them softer, but this is optional.

3. Assembling the cake

  1. Cut the cake: When the cake is completely cool, cut it in half horizontally to create two layers.
  2. Fill the cake: Place a layer of cake on a plate and spread some of the Ninho cream over it. Add a generous layer of chopped strawberries.
  3. Assemble the second layer: Place the second part of the cake on top and cover the cake with the remaining Ninho cream, spreading it evenly. Decorate with the remaining strawberries, cut in half or whole, as you prefer.

4. Finishing the decoration

  1. Final touch: To add extra charm, sprinkle a little Ninho milk on top of the cake, creating a delicious “snow” effect. If you want, you can also add white chocolate shavings or decorate it with more whole strawberries around the cake.
  2. Let it rest: Let the cake rest for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator so the filling and frosting can firm up a bit before serving.

Extra Tips:

  • Nest milk: Ninho milk is the ingredient that gives the cake its creamy and smooth flavor. If you want to vary, you can use other types of powdered milk, but Ninho milk is what really brings the characteristic flavor to the recipe.
  • Ninho milk filling: For an even creamier and more consistent filling, you can replace the cream with a mixture of condensed milk and powdered milk.
  • Strawberry: Use fresh, ripe strawberries to ensure the fruit flavor is at its best. If you want, you can make a simple syrup with strawberries and a little sugar to add more flavor to the filling.
  • Gluten-free version: For a gluten-free version, simply replace the wheat flour with gluten-free flour or rice flour. The recipe works well with these substitutions.
