Flank steak is a succulent and flavorful dish, ideal for a comforting meal. Flank steak is highly appreciated by meat lovers, and is also called flank steak. In addition, this meat has a lower fat content. The best part for us is enjoying good meat and knowing that the meat is much leaner. Below is a detailed recipe for preparing a delicious flank steak:

Ingredients

  • 1 kg de flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons (soup) of olive oil or olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 red or green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup (tea) of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of dry red wine (optional):
  • 2 cups (tea) of beef broth (or water if you prefer)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 spoon (tea) of cumin powder (optional)
  • 1 spoon (tea) of paprika (optional)
  • 2 carrots, medium-sized, cut into slices
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Parsley, chopped, to decorate (optional)

Instructions

  1. Create a flank steak salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Heat the oil in olive oil in a large pot or a pressure cooker over medium-high heat.
  3. Elements flank steakAdd the beef to the pan and stir-fry until it is golden on all sides. This will help to seal in all the juices and flavor.
  4. Remove the meat from pot and set aside.
  5. In the same panadd the onion and garlic. Sauté over medium heat until the onion is soft and golden brown.
  6. Embed tomatoes and with the bell pepper, finely chopped. Cook for a few more minutes, until the tomatoes begin to break.
  7. Add the tomato paste and the wine (if using). Stir well and cook, covered, for 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Return to flank steak to the pan, and then add the beef broth, bay leaf, cumin, and paprika (if using). Stir to combine.
  9. If you are using the pressure cooker.: Put the lid on the pan and cook, covered, for about 40 minutes after the onset of stress.If you're using a pan, the common: Place lid on cooker and cook on low heat for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls apart easily. Add a little more broth or water if necessary during cooking to ensure that the meat is well-hydrated.
  10. Add the sweet potatoes and carrots for the cooking pot. Cook, covered, for 30 minutes more, or until the vegetables are tender, and the sauce has thickened.
  11. Adjust the salt and black pepper as you like it.
  12. Garnish with chopped parsley to serveif you wish, before serving you.

Tips

  • If the sauce is too liquid, you can leave it in the pan, uncovered in the last few minutes of cooking to reduce and thicken the sauce.
  • Serve it with rice, mashed potatoes or freshly baked bread for a complete meal.
