Cake cassava (Tapioca) Pellets

For the cake, cassava (tapioca) pellets, is a dessert classic, very popular in the Northeast region of Brazil. Its unique texture, looks like a pudding, the firm, and its flavor, smooth and sweet, making it a favourite at festivals, coffee shops in the afternoon, and family get-togethers. The best one? No need to go in the oven! This pattern of practice is perfect for those looking for an option tasty and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 500 g cassava (tapioca) pellets
  • 1 litre hot milk
  • 200 ml the milk of a coco
  • 1 can of can of condensed milk
  • 200 g sugar (optional, depending on your taste)
  • 100 g grated coconut (fresh or dry)
  • 1 bit salt
  • Grated coconut and condensed milk, to decorate (optional)

Tip

Be sure to use the cassava (tapioca) pelletsand no gum or food in a frying pan. The texture of the preparation, it is completely different.

Preparation:

  1. Hydrating food:
    In a large mixing bowl, place the cassava (tapioca) pellets, and pour in the milk very hot on top of it. Stir gently, and let it sit for about 30 minutesstir from time to time. The food will soak up the milk and begin to soften.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients:
    After the food has water, then add the coconut milk, the condensed milk, grated coconut, and sugar (if using) and a pinch of salt. Mix well until it forms a homogeneous mixture, and a creamy dressing.
  3. The modeling for the cake:
    Grease a pan with a hole in the middle and a round shape, with a little bit of oil or butter. Pour in the dough and flatten it with a spatula.
  4. Refrigerator:
    Refrigerate for at least 4 hoursor until it is firm and cold. The ideal is to prepare in one day to the next.
  5. Desenformar e decorar:
    To desenformar easily pass the knife to the side out of the way. Garnish with grated coconut over the top and, if desired, sprinkle them with a drizzle of condensed milk just before serving.

Changes

  • Fruit: Add bits of dried fruit, such as raisins, or damascus, to give it that special touch.
  • Chocolate: Stir in chocolate chips half a bitter for the masses for a taste that's even more special.
  • Vegan: Substitute the milk with the condensed milk version and vegetables, use of coconut milk in a double.
