Chicken Chess is a dish that's tasty and full of color, inspired by the cuisine of china. This is a great option for a quick dinner and it's delicious. With a unique combination of ingredients and flavors, this dish stands out for its versatility, flavor and character. Here is a very simple recipe to prepare the Chicken, and Chess in the home:

Ingredients

  • 500 gm chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 of a cup (of tea) in sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 large onion, peeled, cut into small cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into small cubes
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into small cubes
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled, cut into thin rings
  • 1/2 cup (tea) of peanuts, roasted
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 small piece of ginger (about 1 cm), finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup (tea) of soy sauce (shoyu)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons of corn starch
  • 1/4 cup (tea) of water
  • 1 spoon (tea) of sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • 1/2 spoon (tea) of the oil from the sesame seeds toasted (optional)
  • Chives, chopped, to decorate (optional)

Instructions

  1. To Prepare the chickenIn a separate bowl, add the cubed chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Pre-heat the sesame oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add it to the chicken to the wok and stir-fry until it is fully cooked and golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the wok and set aside.
  4. In the same placeadd a little more oil if necessary. Add onion, red pepper, green pepper, and carrot. Stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes, until the vegetables are slightly tender, but still crunchy.
  5. Add the garlic and ginger to the wok and cook for 1 more minute, until it becomes aromatic.
  6. Make the chicken in the back, on the wok. Mix it well with the vegetables.
  7. To Prepare the sauceIn a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, the oyster sauce (if using), sugar, corn starch, and water. Stir until the cornstarch is completely dissolved.
  8. Pour in the marinara sauce on the chicken and the vegetables in the wok. Cook, covered, for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, and cover it well with the chicken and vegetables.
  9. Add the roasted peanuts and toss to coat. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
  10. Finish with sesame oil toastedif you'd like, and mix it well.
  11. Garnish with chopped green onions just before serving, if desired.

Suggestions:

  • Serve the Chicken and Plaid with white rice or brown rice.
  • For a meal, you can keep track of it with a salad for a light one.
